Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s clear that night is its favourite time.

And look! It has grown wings and turned red on its back! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Vetlin, according to many beings, is a little angel. Or at least, that's what everybody thinks. Cute and eternally small, this little frozen hatchling has soft, pure white wings and an adorable face. Vetlin is a sweetheart, and loves all the attention people and dragons always give her. Seldom does she ever get in trouble, but when she does is often forgiven quickly and told it's not her fault. It's no surprise that Vetlin uses this to her advantage, though she is smart enough not to too often. Everyone adores her, and she's seen as the cutest dragon in the Sanctuary. The pygmies and other hatchlings tend to stay away from her, as she's much larger than all of them (about the size of a large house cat, to be precise), and can tend to be rough in play fighting, or when she doesn't get what she wants from them. She knows she has power over them, and also knows they wouldn't dare tell on her in fear of getting in trouble themselves.
