Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Immortal Foundling is eternally young. She found her way to the cave long ago, already in the state she was in. There is no way the spell that keeps her young can be lifted, because she is so old in reality her body would turn to dust on the spot when the spell was broken. She seems to drift between two different personalities. Oftentimes she will act and play like the other hatchlings, but suddenly she will look as if she had aged a few thousand years and move slowly and speak like one older then imagining. She cannot seem to figure out whether she is young or old. She suffers from severe depression because she is trapped in a body that doesn't quite fit her. She gets along very well with a male called Glinting Eye, who also feels trapped in his body and suffers from depressive episodes. They seem as if they would be soul mates, but this is impossible because of Immortal Foundlings eternal tender age. The must live apart from one another wishing they could be together.
