Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys sunning itself in the morning light.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Deviant Art was a small purple and pink egg when the cave leader adopted him.

When he hatched he was mischievous and bad, and that is half the reason he's named Deviant Art. He strove for life, being the smallest of the hatchlings. His cave mates grew into adults, and left him dying. Legend of the hills then cast a spell on him. He was frozen. His life is stuck where it is. Deviant Art is jealouse of his cave mates, but he's glad for his new friend Deviant Ant. The two have been frozen as children. They play and have fun, while his cave mates have to take care of cave work. Being frozen is both a blessing and a curse.
