Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A cocky, selfish dragon, Antiphons was never a favorite in the cave located on the shore of the Lake of Elgar. Discovered outside of the Mountains of Elgar by the human girl Flight, he was brought back by the young dragon guardian and raised alongside two other hatchlings. Antiphons often fought with his older "brother", the violent Tri-horn Wyvern named Andalusite of the Gems, and completely ignored his other brother, the solitary Abrigyr. Lately Antiphons has taken residence within the forest of Tohrutyr, the largest and most populated of the three forests in the Mountains of Elgar. Despite his cocky nature Antiphons does have a soft side, as he often likes to play with the smaller animals in the forest where he lives. This side of him is carefully guarded by Antiphons himself, as he always reverts back to his selfish ways when another dragon is nearby. Flight is aware of this side of her beloved dragon; she remains quiet about it and occasionally plays with the Whiptail.
