Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. He told Amber that kiten234 had said it was okay, but he hadn't ever asked her! Amber was very upset at Zep when she found this out, as was kiten234. But sadly, freezing is an irreversible spell, so Zep is stuck hovering near the ground, which is as far up as he can fly (or is willing to fly).
