Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Volundr doesn't much care for the frenetic energy and the never ending curiosity of the munchkins. He wants to create treasures and tools for others in peace, without having to push pygmy dragons off his work slab or shove them out of his forge room with his tail. He doesn't want them getting hurt, but their constant interest in whatever he's doing and their fascination in his shining scales cause them to be drawn like the most nosy hatchlings that ever roamed a cave. It seems like there's always at least one pestering Volundr, no matter what efforts the matrons make.

Despite of this, he still manages to create jewelry, collars, and sundry shiny things using copper alloys and precious stones. Volundr's work is cherished by the other dragons of the Berry Clan.
