Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jakinzhu is a well-respected dragon within his cave, especially due to having two very powerful dragons wrapped around his claw. Both the Guardian of Nature, Zhiegan, and the murderous Ice dragon, Vexen, are in love with Jakinzhu. He specializes in painful (but not environmentally destructive) magics so that he can simply cause the two to break down in pain if they come too close. Some believe that the frustration is what originally turned Vexen into such a murderer, and the unfortunate story is that this is true. Vexen and Jakinzhu grew up together as very close friends, but the friendship ended as the ice dragon set up a surprise party for Jakinzhu in the Alpine, which nearly resulted in the two's death due to an untimely avalanche. Though Vexen attempted time and time again to apologize and make it up to him, Jakinzhu only ignored and pushed him away, punishing him with painful magic if he tried to come close. Jakinzhu refuses having any part in turning Vexen into a killer.
