Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As a hatchling, Zaon was always rather smart, placing the pebbles he collected in complex patterns. He once became the only un-mated male in the clan, this due to the rest of the clan only being able to keep a few female hatchlings alive after a previous winter. Many of the un-mated females eventually took a liking to him and began to compete against each other, hunting for him and attempting to woo him in any way they could. He took this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and convinced the females to cater to his every whim. He began to make a hobby of watching the females fight among themselves for him, helping one, when he wanted, by distracting the opposing female with a telepathically thrown pebble. Only when one of the females, eggs, or hatchlings was deathly harmed would he call the fights off and temporarily revert to what he was like back when he was a mere hatchling, kind and hard working. This will usually fades after a week or so, and then he's back to his old self.
