Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hyzenlay is a vain, understanding, kind, and somewhat selfish dragon. She spends a lot of her time day dreaming about things that make her feel good, but most of the time she dreams of romance. She longs to have a mate of her own, but no one in her so called 'family' really interests her. Well, the exception just so happens to be the dark blue loner nicknamed 'Odd One Out'. Many times Hyzenlay has tried to gain his attention, but her attempts are in vain. After many attempts, she realized he didn't like to spend much time with dragons that were not of the water. Even her day dream power to make him think of her backfired. She soon found out that another family member named Almanexva was competing against her to gain the Two-Finned Bluna's affection. Vowing that she would one day succeed in their competition, Hyzenlay to this day still tries to get close to the mysterious dragon. Unfortunately, the major disatvantage for Hyzenlay is that Almanexva is a water dragon unlike her.
