Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aklor once dreaded growing old. He spent decades of his life researching immortality, until he at last thought he'd found his answer in a modification of the ancient revival magic. The spell, cast on Halloween, did give him the immortality he sought, but at a terrible price. It left Aklor trapped as a zombie in magi form, neither fully alive nor fully dead, with barely enough of his old self left to comprehend what had happened. If a sympathetic soulpeace hadn't intervened, Aklor would still be a one-dragon cautionary tale. As it was, the effort of reversing the spell added centuries to his life and ruined his health, but at least Aklor learned his lesson. Rather than seeking to extend his life, Aklor has decided to enjoy whatever time he has left.
