Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It looks very sick, as though it wasn’t very well looked after...

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Neglected dragons may be weak, but they are also persistent. The Vampire NDs of their clan wanted a wingless baby to join them and they begged endlessly until their caretaker agreed to try.  It was very difficult, but persistence finally paid off.  They now have a new little one to spoil and love. Nadasdy's Bite Baby is a timid hatchling.  She will not wander far from her adopted family.  Sometimes her big sister can coax her a short distance away to play but even then she often takes a peek to make sure an adult is close enough to keep her feeling secure.
