Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sodanmahti sees himself as quite a charmer and very strong and handsome, but due to his conceited attitude, most female dragons in fact find him quite unbearable. He mostly hangs out with other dragons that, like him, are more interested in physical beauty and fitness than depth of character but occasionally he tries to make advances on recently matured dragons that meet his beauty standards. Other mature dragons in the pack are warning the young ones against getting too involved with him since Sodanmahti has no interest in commitment and would only break a young girl's heart if she let herself grow fond of him. But part of his inability to form lasting relationships may be due to the fact that he was abandoned as a hatchling so he might still retain a memory of the experience.
