Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

His whole life, Hippo wanted to fly. When his cruel owner, cookiejar33, cast a spell on him to stop his aging before he had grown wings, he was devastated. He had had such high hopes of starting a family with one of the females. To this day, he vows revenge against his cruel owner for destroying his dreams and giving him a comical name for everyone to laugh at. He and the other two frozen hatchlings won't stop until their horrible owner is vanquished.
