Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

'Bloodthirsty little beast! Never trust aduCK!' Says one of Den's older dragons, telling a cautionary tale to the assembled hatchlings. Very few dragons know Heronbreeze's actual name, as he is surprisingly secretive, and so they call him by his codename, the official name given to him before he hatched. Judging by his obnoxious behavior, one would think he was a Misfit Pygmy, but some of the stunts he's pulled shock even them. He rather loves pulling (often dangerous) pranks, and is the bane of many a White's existence, thanks to injuries sustained by his victims and himself. His owner doesn't have the heart to remove him from the cave, mostly because he uses his Daydream abilities to make her forget his worst offenses. The other dragons, however, are not so easily fooled. He loathes mangoes with a passion, preferring to dine on meat pies instead.
