Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Anzona is the result of several years of careful breeding through the tribe. When her egg was first laid, everyone swore it was blindingly bright pink, an indicator that she was going to be a very rare dragon that was going to be cherished. And following the laws of their ancestors, her parents and the rest of the tribe left her completely isolated for three days in a cave, not even minimal care was to be given to her. As soon as those days passed and everyone was going to check up on Anzona, a massive hurricane hit, forcing everyone to retreat to the mainland and abandon Anzona in her egg. When they came back and searched for her it was apparent that she was not what she was supposed to be. Remarkably, she survived, but instead of a brilliant bright pink dragon, a ragged light pink dragon was there in her place. Since Anzona already matured they let her stay in the tribe. But everyday someone, be it her parents, grandparents, or the tribe leaders, nags her about her light pink color.
