Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Merlin's Expedition, as his name suggests, has endured quite the journey of life. Born to a magi father and a water mother, the young hatchling always had an affinity for the lakes and rivers around his secluded childhood home. Yet his true passion was the ocean—so during his tumultuous adolescent years, he managed to sneak aboard a passing human ship, leaving behind everything he knew to set sail for the high seas. It was not an easy life, and Merlin's Expedition often found himself with nowhere to turn. But despite the dangers and hardships he faced, he still managed to travel to many foreign lands, gaining indispensable knowledge of their cultures and politics. After he was welcomed into his current clan, Merlin's Expedition settled down, using his teleportation powers and past experience to assist his clan's diplomatic entourage. But even though he has found a loving home at last, some say he still yearns for the seas—and the thrill of exploration that he remembers so vividly.
