Geode Dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Stony Hearted was named so because he attempted to break the other hatchlings out of their shells before they were ready. Everyone thought he was going to grow up to be a warrior, and named him after a ruthless dragon killer named Heart of Stone. As Stony Hearted grew up, his parents saw that he was not going to be the dragon they intended him to be, and ended up teleporting him away to an owner who would appreciate his tenderness. As thanks to his parents for giving him to her, the owner kept the name Stony Hearted, but instead calls him Softie, as she later learned that he was trying to help the weaker hatchlings out of their shells, not attempting to kill them.
