Spitfires are a desert breed of dragon. Their dull brown bodies contrast with their brilliant turquoise markings, and they only blaze brighter when these dragons fight. Spitfires are notorious for their territorial natures, and the wing-edges of most are ripped and tattered before their first year is out. Spitfires are also noteworthy for their brilliant blue fire, which is used not for hunting or fighting, but rather for making glass caves from the sand, in which the dragons can soak up the sun.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Chain Let Go was a servant to an evil wizard. She was always kept on a magic chain to prevent her escape or attacking her master. The Chain Let Go was wild and very nearly insane. One day the younger Elenwen's Knight came to the castle and found The Chain Let Go. With his shield like tail he broke the chain and set The Chain Let Go loose. The Chain Let Go went crazy after being chained up for so long; she had so much energy and power! Elenwen's Knight fought her off long enough for Sijach the Assassin to come up behind The Chain Let Go and knock her out. They took her back to Elenwen where the other dragons calmed and trained her (Especially The Fire of Green and The Violet Star)  Now The Chain Let Go is calm and can unleash her power only when she wishes. One of the things that helped her to get through this was the new dragon she grew up with at the cave, The Water Flower. They both were different and had grown up in a hard way; they truly loved each other.
