Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shines Like A Horse resides over the plains of the New World. She nests in dens, dug into the sides of hillocks, and moves from one to the next depending on food sources. She has flawless eyesight and is more than capable of hunting at night, though if a chance passes by as she rests in the day, she will not hesitate to blast it with a hex and pounce on it. This is the same method she uses at night as she flies above the vast herds of buffalo. Unlike carnivores restricted to land, she does not have to wait for a calf or sickling to become detached from the main bulk of the herd. She will take her pick from above, stun it with a hex, then swoop down and snatch it. The tribes of the plain believe that her hunting influences the path of the herds, and they track her. She has been witnessed by some tribes slinking amongst their horses, though she has never attacked them. Thus it is believed that she is a spirit, blessing the horses with speed and strength, ready for war and hunting.
