Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

While this dragon's parents love one another very much, they are often at odds as to what the absolute best thing to hoard is. Back-and-forth shrieks of "gold!" "potatoes!" "gold!" "POTATOES!" are quite common, the heated debates sometimes lasting until both dragons pass out from exhaustion. Now, being a good son who listens well to his elders, Goldrush took the sage "advice" of his parents very seriously and strove to act upon it. Accordingly he moved to the lush lands of the south, carefully planting, hybridizing, and selectively breeding potatoes until he'd produce a crop so darn delicious that others were lining up by the droves to buy them. Now the happy owner of both gold AND potatoes, Goldrush has switched from exclusively farming to running a small restaurant chain, where his thickly sliced potato "bars of gold" have earned the love of his customers and inspired the pride of his parents.
