Serrati Wyverns are a fierce breed of dragon typically found in volcanic areas or in desert scrubland. With their keen vision, these fearsome predators can pick out well-camouflauged prey from the slightest movement. They are named for the double rows of serrated teeth that line their beaks, which allow these wyverns to maintain an unbreakable grip on prey while they tear into their target with deadly hooked claws. Though these dragons are combative with nearly everything, they are surprisingly well-mannered when raising their offspring in communal nests. Males, however, tend to be chased off as soon as eggs are laid.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Found near the volcano long thought to be abandoned by dragons, a lone wanderer discovered this egg, abandoned and alone. Out of sheer pity she took it with her back to the ruins of an ancient castle. When he hatched he was still dependent on this mysterious person for protection from the savage dragons seen flying overhead. However, his aggressive nature still stuck out, and often the two would be caught in battle, blood being shed on both sides. Eventually, though, the two sorted things out, and together they restored the stone walls. Dubbed with the name Edin, the dragon took his rightful place as ruler over this fortress, only answering to the one who raised him, the Castle Master. He is usually perched on the highest tower, watching as the other dragons go about their daily business. His shriek can be heard throughout the evening, a horrifying cry that strikes fear in the hearts of any who dare wrong him.
