Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Up high on a mountain,

lives a solitary soul,

it never, ever receives company,

dwelling in its tiny cavern hole,

for it is Midnight Olive Greene,

and he's been there for as long as can be,

never in the land he has been seen,

for he lives a solitary life,

alone and free!

One would expect Midnight Olive Greene,

to be as happy as one can be,

but in reality he's a sad hatchling,

for he only wants company,

afflicted with the fact,

that the mountain he lives on,

is so steep, dragons it doesn't attract,

and so he lives his days in isolation...

For he's been cursed, with an ancient spell,

to never grow up, to never mature,

he'll never grow taller, he'll never be well,

all of this he can be sure,

nothing can break this infamous curse,

commonly known as freezing,

for Midnight Olive Greene, he's got the worst,

kind of freezing that any dragon could get,

the kind that nobody can cure,

and so he remains a mere hatchling,

his body, forever immature...
