Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

An Omen has never actually been seen by the keeper of the scroll she is on, yet the other dragons absolutely insist that she exists. For a while the keeper refused to add this dragon to her scroll, assuming that her thunder was just playing tricks on her until, nearly a year later, a hatchling ran up with evidence of her visit: A small gem, and a bright metallic ribbon of scales. The characteristics the other dragons described her of having were mysterious, musical, giving, and full of joy. On the rare occasion that she visits she enjoys dancing for the thunder, particularly the hatchlings, and bringing gifts to be shared among all. She never stays for more than a few hours and leaves while the others are asleep, always leaving behind a small gift and a new ribbon.
