Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Arminda Dragonrise was killed, her owner attempted to revive her. The spell went wrong, and instead of bringing her back to life like it should have, Arminda came back with only her body animated but her soul lost. The result was a violent monster who attacked any living being that approached her, as those without a soul instinctively wished to fill that empty space where the soul should reside, not knowing that the only thing those actions would have achieved was the death of others. Despite her now-aggressive behavior and still-decaying body, Arminda's owner likes her enough to keep her around, although at a safe distance from the other dragons.
