Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

After a long cold phase during the last ice age came to an end, and the glaciers slowly retreated, a mysterious egg was found in the melting fields of snow. At first the egg was watched with distrust and caution by the primitive humans, who found it. When the young dragon finally hatched none of them had ever seen something like him.

For the longest time "Son of the Glacier" was worshipped by their tribe as their harsh and fierce patron god and when the old dragon finally died his legacy was passed on to his strongest son.

To this day there has always been a could, proud, and fierce Ice dragon by the name "Son of the Glacier" watching over the humans of that area.
