Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

OceanRainNight is a Two-Finned Bluna Dragon hatchling who loves her parents, IceJynx and LovelyOceanRainStorm. Her mother is a fellow Bluna and they spend all of their time together. Her father is an Ice Dragon who swims for most of the day to be with his family. OceanRainNight is loved very much. She is almost always happy. When she is feeling bad, her parents both comfort her until she feels better. Her dad can't sleep with them, but OceanRainNight and her mother, LovelyOceanRainStorm, spend all night cuddling on the sea floor.
