Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Twyla Nuria was found as an egg on a cliff when the sun was setting and raised by the human Ember in the tallest mountain of Elgar. Twyla was a very caring creature, and she followed Ember everywhere even though she disliked the daytime.  When she was fully grown, Twyla instead played with her human in the evening, and guarded her by night as she could no longer stand the sun. Ember often went to visit her friend Flight who lived by the lake of Elgar, and as a hatchling Twyla would accompany her, though she made sure to stay away from the always bright Natinori, one of Flight's dragons. Twyla did however become fast friends with Frilldian, a dorsal dragon who also disliked light. At night, they often fly together, but Twyla always stays within close range to Ember's house, where she still dwells.
