Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blue Soul is strange young nebula dragon, with an obsession over a small cube of ice that an Ice dragon gave her. It was given to her as a hatchling, and she was told that it was a very special ice cube and it would be worth it to keep it from melting for as long as she could, so she is always found watching the ice cube closely in a nearby Alpine region. When she heard how special the cube was, she felt love wash over her, and she knew that this ice cube was meant for her. She knew that she and the ice cube were destined to become married, and then maybe small pieces would break off of the cube and become little nebula-ice-cube babies. Her ideas are so ridiculous and sad that even Vexen will leave her alone with her special cube and pity the young nebula. She was even known to call out and scream for the ice cube as her owner took her away only for a short time; long enough to breed with another dragon. Though her owner made her, Soul feels as if she has betrayed her beloved ice cube.
