Electric Dragons wield electricity with great prowess. Bright sparks race across these dragons’ bodies in a dazzling dance of light, complemented by the blindingly radiant sparks on their tails. Using their bellies and manes as stores for this electrical energy, Electric Dragons wield crackling magic, stunning and electrocuting their prey with a whip of their tail. During mating season it is typically those with the most brilliant sparks—an indicator of strength and hunting ability—that are drawn to each other.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Elikalo was born in the intricate canyon system between two mountains and spent much of his youth with his father. Though he was curious about the absence of his mother, his father refused to say anything. Living away from the clans on the mountains, Elikalo learned from his father how to fly amidst the incredibly strong winds that blew through the narrow crevices and became surprisingly adept at flight for an electric dragon.

As Elikalo entered adolescence, his father's mood took a turn for the worst, and one day, he decided to leave, explaining that he had to look for Elikalo's mother. Elikalo was left alone.

For years, he practiced against the wind, alone, by perching at the bottom of a cliff. It was here that, one stormy day, another electric dragon named Kazqala stumbled upon him. She was from one of the clans in the mountains but had seen his passive lightning through the dark clouds. They were slow to talk, partially due to the storm, but since then, the two have been inseparable.
