Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has large frills on its head.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Guardian of the Opalescent Line was found as an egg outside the cave; the Caregiver assumed that his mother had too many eggs to care for and took the egg in.   Almost as soon as the little frill hatched, the Guard Father took him under his wing to be trained in the organization of the various dragons within the Caves.  Because their golden stripes that match his own,  Guardian of the Opalescent Line helps with the prestigious line of the Opalescent stripes and took their name as his own.  

He likes sunning with the Opals and splashing with them on the nearby beach.  One of his favorite pastimes is using his frills in tall grass to scare bugs into his friends waiting claws.
