Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nightshade is a very mysterious dragon. He's nocturnal, which means he is asleep during the day, and much more active at night. Nightshade hunts very early in the day for himself, so he's not hungry while he's in his long day slumber. When the other dragons are sleeping, they often catch his glowing green eyes, which scare them. He likes to scare the other dragons, and then make fun of them for not expecting it, for he has been doing that since he had first known the other dragons. Nightshade only prefers his breed; though he gets along well with other warrior breeds, he does not wish to mate with a dragon that is not of his kind.
