Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Child of Aknauton is a sunrise dragon.  As her name implies, she worships the sun.  Especially the Early morning sun.  Her favorite thing in the whole world is to find a large, gently sloping flat ledge to lie on with her many friends.  They stretch out to take advantage of the earliest golden rays of the sun.  Not a sound is heard. It is as if they are holding their collective breath, waiting for the first, glorious beam of sunshine peek through the mountain tops. The sun seems to act like fuel for Child of Aknauton and her friends. After soaking up the sunrise in total reverence, they suddenly burst into action and they do not stop moving again until they collapse for the night.
