Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn’t move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Scrap has a problem. It's forgetful, losing track of time easily, so when daylight comes and freezes it in place, it's usually not in a convenient or well-hidden place. Once this wasn't a problem, but recently there have been issues when it reawakens at sunset. Someone's been scribbling graffiti on Scrap's back while it sleeps! The nerve! Scrap suspects one of the newer hatchlings is responsible for this, but since they always do it on Scrap's back, there's no way to catch the culprit in the act without involving a higher authority (i.e. an adult dragon). That's simply not an option; Scrap is far too proud to admit needing help with something as undignified as this. As far as it can tell (it's hard to get a clear look at your own back), the graffiti isn't anything particularly bad, just some doodles and such, so Scrap suspects that this prank is meant to annoy rather than harm. Still, it has to stop, and Scrap is determined to do it alone. It just needs to figure out how to do that.
