It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Being the first dragon egg found by the cave's owner, she received the name Prudence Firstborn, and she is one of the main dragons of the cave, though she isn't acting like a boss, more like everyone's mother. This was the reason she could only mate with Xibalba, who is exactly the same, only in male. However Xibalba is a bit aggressive, they found love easily, and Prudence laid the first egg that was born in their cave. That egg was given as a present to a friend of the cave's owner, which made Prudence sad. To cheer her up, Xibalba helped her lay an other egg, a grey one, looking just like Xibalba. Prudence, looking after her own and other eggs and hatchlings in the cave, helping other dragons, found her peace.
