Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

"Salyeira" literally means "Butterfly", but she has always gone by the nickname of "The Peacock".

Her favourite activity is admiring her own reflection, and of course, it doesn't help that her scales are so shiny and meticulously polished that she could stare and sigh at herself just by lifting a wing in front of her. Perhaps Salyeira is not vain, but merely is attracted to beauty, but then again she considers herself the epitome of beauty...well, nobody can deny that Lumina dragons are attractive.

Salyeira is a dedicated tutor as well. She hosts a regular class for young female hatchlings to teach them the Art of grooming and female etiquette (more commonly known as "Girls 101").

Salyeira's beauty could have awarded her any pick of mates she would like, but she insists on only other Lumina dragons as a mate. Her reasons are simple: she can see her reflection in his scales whenever she looks at him. Besides, it is difficult to find a mate who would have pedicures together with her.
