Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little hatchling really doesn't like the kind of reputation her kind has, no matter how well deserved. And when they are compared to plants everyone always picks unflattering, ugly stuff like nettle or poison ivy. Well, she decided that she and her vines deserved something more pretty and chose the name Lily for herself. While the other dragons around her gave in, they still insist that she is as dangerous and poisonous to her surroundings as any Vine dragon, no matter the name.
