When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Great Hero" in Japanese. He was raised by Chiasa and Kuzuo and had one of the happiest childhoods ever. He loves his parents and loves to hang out with them whenever possible. He is very brave, and helps to protect the lagoon from invasion by hostile outsiders. He is the first of the water dragons to join the Protectors, and is very proud of himself. When he met Soryu  he thought she was the prettiest thing ever, but figured that it couldn't work out because she was a dragon of the air and he was of the water. But since others had made it work, it gave him the courage to try. He has never been happier with a decision. He loves her more than his own life, and spends every moment possible trying to make her happy. They became mates, and love being together.
