Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Kinoran is the second egg of the set the nest had first collected as well as the first dragon to successfully mature into a full dragon. As an egg she was likely, as most common dragons, a failed attempt to produce its rarer cousin, the red dorsal dragon. Ever since she hatched Kinoran has been highly alert for a mate, possibly to make up for her backstory of an egg. Despite the apparent serious nature she is actually rather playful at times and has been known by the local hatchlings to be playing with them. Other than these moments, however, she is a very serious dragon since birth and even the misfit pigmy hatchling, Mesmirus, and his playful pranks seem unable to get her to change her mood. She goes from serious to playful to serious again in an instant. It is apparent that Kinoran, although a common breed, has a very rare nature.
