Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Although Medallion lineage dragons are, as a rule, from the cave; they collectively decided to make an exception from time to time out of appreciation for the truly rare breed. Candy Cain, who is only one generation from the Cave asked to join the Medallion clan because gosh darn it, the ladies were just marvelous! And so friendly. What more could a Yulebuck ask for than the friendly company of some lovely females who adored his rare stripes And they didn't make fun of his oddly shaped wings or antlers, either, unlike some other clans he'd met.

Candy Cain's father is a Yulebuck by the name of Mystletoes and his mother is the gaseous and ever-hovering Balloon who goes by the name of "Harry's Aunt Marge." Who Harry or Aunt Marge are—she isn't telling and nobody knows.
