Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Whether he goes by Zanath or Gil-Galad, this dragon will answer to both his names. He knows, for the moment, that he is the undisputed male dragon of the highest standing in EragonSaphiraRider's cave, and while he took his sweet time to hatch and grow up, he knows he is well loved.

He loves to spend time with his master and seems to like lording it over all the other tinsels because he has such a clean lineage, descended from a starting Tinsel line! More than once EragonSaphiraRider has scolded Zanath about this unseemly behaviour, but he seems ignorant of it.

Regardless, EragonSaphiraRider loves him for who he is.
