Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Melody 51 is a pure bred, graceful, Skywing dragon. She got her name from her passion for music. Although Melody 51 has never sung with sound before, she uses her telepathy to translate feelings into music with fine and beautiful composition. When she isn't busy singing, Melody 51 lives in a sky kingdom, Cadence Palace, where she is on the high council along with many others of her breed and other flight associated breeds. Even though she isn't the ruler, Melody 51 is of high power in her native land. In fact, Melody 51 can substitute for a member of the council that passes laws. Along with being successful in the kingdom, Melody 51 has an entire chest of awards for her widely known voice, and is considered one of the top telepathy singers in her area.
