Harvest Dragons are a large, flightless breed most often found in heavily forested mountains. Normally shy, these omnivorous dragons keep to themselves in remote regions, but in the fall they descend from their high territory to search for food—and lots of it. During the autumn months, harvest dragons will eat whatever they can find, from large and small animals to nuts and fruit. In the winter they retreat into large caves and hibernate until spring, living off the fat they have built up.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This particular dragon has a tendency to collect small, insignificant objects, almost "harvesting" them as its name suggests. It is protective of its hoard but more than willing to share it with any curious dragon that approaches it. Every autumn it picks through the hoard, choosing its favorite items to take with it into the caves when it hibernates. Generally, the collection of saved items will contain the same as the years before, but with a few more choice pickings added. The dragon seems to have attached some sentimental value to all of the items, even the discarded ones, but it is unclear why it chooses these specific objects in the first place.
