Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Abyss is a strange dragon. One of the strangest, you could say. She is a legend; it is fabled that her kind had died out long ago.

Black dragons were considered bad luck in many lairs in the east, a popular superstition among humans. Because of this, Abyss was abandoned when she was just an egg. She was later found by Obsidian, who welcomed all creatures of darkness. Under Obsidian's care, Abyss hatched, opening her eyes for the first time. But Obsidian noticed something strange about Abyss- Unlike normal black dragons, she lacked spines and a pale underbelly. Abyss did not fit in. As she got older, her differences only became more noticeable. But Abyss was fierce, and she didn't let ridicule from others drag her down. Abyss grew up to be an amazing fighter, using her pitch-black scales to deceive enemies.
