Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Since earliest childhood Rosenkind's home has been Zebra's Glen. It was here that she met the water dragon Blue Wyrm. She had been warned that falling in love with a water dragon would only lead to heartbreak, but her heart had decided against all well-meant advice.

Often one can find her at the shore's of the large lake in Zebra's Glen. There she will sit and quietly gaze at her beloved Blue Wyrm, who will look back at her no less besotted. And while she enjoys the little trinkets and the fish he brings her, she likes talking to him the best.

As her friends saw the great love between Rosenkind and Blue Wyrm, they thought, they would be forgotten and Rosenkind would not leave the water dragon's side. Yet their fears were unfounded, Rosenkind still came to spend time with them. Every once in a while when Rosenkind and her friends would race across the sky to see who would be fastest, Blue Wyrm would race them under water.
