Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Zaisei Kanraku's name roughly translates to "living cheese."  It is not the most clever handle for this diminutive dragon to wear, but the cave denizens were at a loss as to what else to call him.  It is a rare occasion to see Zaisei out and about, as he generally sticks to the inner recesses of the cave where it is cooler and more damp.  He hides much of the time, avoiding the more intimidating adults (as he is after all made of food).  When he does decide to join the group, he is a pleasant and animated creature with a somewhat crude sense of humor.
