Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Brother Gold is the son of the great Goldset. He hopes to someday grow up and be an adviser to MoonStar and SunStar. Just like his father, he enjoys sitting in the garden and watching Pumpkin make his pumpkin bread. Unlike his father he likes to sit by the river and catch fish for the hatchlings. Very few of the hatchlings like fish, but for the ones that do, Brother Gold makes sure they get enough.
