Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. A cold chill rattled this emergency hatchling as he huddled in the damp corners of the abandoned area. The many other dragons of the cave huddled around his tiny body, spreading warmth and love to him. Young dragons found in this cave are usually shunned unless they are very healthy, but the dragons decide to carry this one, although he was sick with too many people visiting him.

"Take him out," growled one back dragon, but a lonesome mother with grown children took him under her wing. With lots of training, this once helpless hatchling grew up to be a very strong dragon. He quickly grew to be the swiftest of the dragons in his cave, and his kind, quiet nature sparked the curiosity of many others. Soon, he was living a very happy life and always will.
