Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vidar, named for the Norse god of revenge and for the son of Odin, is seen as a fierce and cold black dragon. He keeps to himself very often, brooding in the shadows of the cave. He comes out of hiding on occasion, though, for food and the younger dragons look in awe at his rare presence. Vidar is often misunderstood by many of the younger dragons, for he has never laid a hand on another or lashed out in hostility. This is because his intimidating aura leads them to believe that he will harm them but in reality he meditates, contrary to his perceived fierce nature. Even the elder dragons have yet to know what he is meditating for though.
