Cassare Dragons are known for their magic-deadening abilities. Though not a conscious ability, a large field surrounds the dragon through which magic is passively nullified. This field is strongest near the dragon itself, and falls off with distance. The absence of magic often makes other creatures avoid them, though some will have the opposite reaction and seek refuge instead. It has also caused them to be hunted, as though the field is severely weakened once dead, their bones and scales retain some of the effect. Possessing such an item is considered a necessity by those who expect to face hostile magic.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The persecution of her kind was not strange to her. As a child she had admired from afar those who could work magic, and found it fairly reasonable that they would recoil from those who sealed their gift--even inadvertently. So she never fought back when she was chased from a territory, never so much as a made a sound when she was cursed. Yet there was one thing she would not accept--the butchering of the innocent members of her kind, a macabre replacement for simply asking them to leave. She hunted those hunters in turn accordingly--using the very same power that had made them despise her to render their magical protections mute and killing them where they stood. Such vigilante behavior could only do so much good, however, the dragon always yearning for a better way to coexist... and sharing her ideals with another of her breed, a naive and gentle male. But all too soon he was stolen from her by an ill-tempered sorcerer, leaving her to vow she'd stop at nothing to see him saved.
