It’s an undead baby dragon, produced by a failed magical spell. It probably would be cute if it weren’t partially decayed.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

He is only seen on stormy evenings, attracted to the electricity like a moth to flame. Once a tiny, frozen Electric dragon, nobody knows exactly how he met his end. The weyr hatchlings, whether frozen or not, are understandably terrified of him—as are their parents and caretakers. Shocking has not yet taken a life since his turning, though attempts on those who pitied him are not uncommon.

It seems he keeps a small, untended den at the base of Preto Osso's mountain. The bones and mouldering remains of small animals and even plants surround the entrance, often gnawed-on to the point where identification of the poor victim is nigh impossible. His nest—nothing more than a hole scratched out under a boulder—stinks of rot and mould and seems to have once housed some sort of Pygmy dragon.

As he is much quicker on his feet than First Undeath and Murmur of the Walking Dead, he is more of a threat to the weyr despite his size. The Stone guards and some Magis keep constant watch for him.
